The dating of the final impression is owing to Martin Butlin’s discovery of an 1804 watermark on this print, a finding published in his 1981 article “A Newly Discovered Watermark and a Visionary’s Way with His Dates.” The other design reprinted in 1804–05 is Nebuchadnezzar he, like Newton, appears in a contracted, fallen position.
